PHEW. WE DID IT.

Yesterday, for me, is more than an isolated event. Yesterday is my entire childhood. Yesterday is going home for the holidays.

And that’s because my abuser is a family member - one that I was conditioned into treating as such. Yesterday was never more than 20 feet away from me. I was told I had to love yesterday because well, “family matters”.

There are so many things about this show I had never intended to include. There are so many things that came forth simply out of result of the process. i said from the beginning that above all, no matter what ends up in my gallery space, it will be process above final. I found out that I rely on my writing to dig deeper. I am colloquial as all hell when you talk to me but I will give you anything you need on a page.

I owe deep and ever-lasting gratitudes to the wonderful support system I had. Much like I did - my partner, my friends, and my classmates also talked to yesterday with me. They heard my cries, felt my heartache, and encouraged me to keep having these conversations.
